Solo and Chamber Competition Winners

2009 Duxbury Music Festival Solo Competition Results

South Shore Conservatory proudly announces the winners of the 2009 Duxbury Music Festival Solo Competition, which was held Saturday, July 25, at the Ellison Center for the Arts:

Dasol Jeong Si Yuan Li Laurent Rohrbasser
First Prize: Dasol Jeong, violin Second Prize: Si Yuan Li, piano Third Prize: Laurent Rohrbasser, piano

Dasol Jeong won First Prize, performing Sarasate’s Introduction and Tarantella and a Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto. Second Prize winner Si Yuan Li performed Chopin’s Etude, Op. 25, No. 6, Scriabin’s Etude in C# Minor, Op. 45, No. 5, and Debussy’s Etude pour les arpeges. The Third Prize winner, Laurent Rohrbasser performed Spring Fire and Dream Images from George Crumb’s Makrokosmos.

Judges for the competition were David Hagan, piano, Rane Moore, clarinet, and Greg Newton, bassoon.
